This Cape Cod wedding at Wychmere Beach Club was full of so much love and joy that I still find myself smiling ear to ear when I think back on it.
What I loved most was the energy everyone brought with them. You could feel how deeply these two were loved the second you walked in, and that feeling carried through the entire day.
It was the kind of wedding that felt easy, heartfelt, and completely present. With beautiful coastal views, an incredible group of humans ready to celebrate the heck out of Annie and Nick, and so many moments sprinkled throughout that made me think, yep, this is exactly why I love what I do.

A Cape Cod Wedding That Felt Completely Like Them
One of my biggest goals going into any wedding day is pretty simple: I don’t want your memories of your wedding to be of me constantly pulling you away from it.
Yes, we’re going to take some beautiful photos, I’ll of course make sure we have the time and light we need when it matters, and if everyone suddenly needs someone to take charge and get twenty people looking in roughly the same direction, I’m your girl. But the rest of the time I want you living your damn life on YOUR WEDDING DAY!
Annie and Nicks Cape Cod wedding was such a good example of what can happen when there’s room for both.
There were the big, obvious moments you know you’ll want to remember forever. But there was also everything happening around them. Friends were cracking up together, the sweetest reactions across the room from loved ones, and people squeezing each other extra tight everywhere you looked.
“Nothing ever felt overly posed or forced; she made everything feel natural and genuinely fun.” — Annie & Nick
Dare I say mission accomplished?! 😉

Wychmere Beach Club Was a Pretty Freaking Good Backdrop, Too
Wychmere Beach Club is located at Harwich Port and surrounded by that classic coastal scenery that makes a Cape Cod wedding feel so darn magical.
You have Wychmere Harbor on one side, the Nantucket Sound on the other, and plenty of room for everyone to celebrate in between. Get more info about the Wychmere Beach Club here.

The Photos You Didn’t Know You Needed
Nick and Annie inquired knowing that they wanted a mix of formal portraits and those fun, candid moments that no one could ever possibly plan. Most importantly, they wanted their friends and family to be documented throughout every part of their celebration, not just the cocktail hour and reception.
So, we got the formals and I let whatever else the day had in store, happen. Sometimes that means becoming an honorary wedding guest with a couple cameras strapped to my body. Apparently, Annie and Nick noticed that part too:
“She somehow felt less like a vendor and more like the best additional guest at our wedding” (I will GLADLY take that title!).

Celebrating Annie and Nick From the First Call to the Last Song
Wedding photography is such a weird job when you really think about it. You hire someone who is basically a complete stranger and then invite them into some of the most emotional, ridiculous, intimate, and fun moments of your life. Trust me when I say that I never take this opportunity for granted.
Our relationship starts way before I show up with my cameras on your wedding day so that by the time your wedding rolls around, I want to know what matters to you, who matters to you, and what you actually want this whole thing to feel like.
Then when the day arrives, you can stop worrying about whether we’re “getting enough photos” because that’s my job. Yours is to marry your person, eat the good food, hug your people, drink something delicious, and absolutely lose it when your song comes on.

Wedding Photos That Bring You Right Back
Annie and Nicks ceremony was one of my favorite moments. Their vows were the sweetest, their people were filled with so much joy getting to witness it, and I was just in awe of it all. And this might be my favorite thing they said after receiving their gallery:
“Looking through them instantly transports us back to the best day of our lives.”
That’s the whole freaking point!! Because at the end of the day, sure you’ll have photos that prove the day happened, but the feeling is what stays within you long after the celebration is over. It’s truly impossible to recall such a deep, intimate feeling when you’re not present during the day. That is exactly why I create space for you to really experience it wholeheartedly.

Planning Your Own Wychmere Beach Club Wedding?
If you’re dreaming up a wedding at Wychmere Beach Club (or anywhere along the Cape) and want photos that document the pretty stuff and all the ridiculous, emotional, blink-and-you-missed-it moments happening around it, I’d freaking love to hear what you’re planning.

Hi, I’m Erica — New England Wedding Photographer
When I’m not all up in your business learning about the special day you’re about to celebrate, I’m usually hanging out with my fam—the Husband and Oaks—in our cute coastal town of Portsmouth, NH. Or, you’ll find me breaking a sweat while teaching a fitness class at one of our local studios.
Either way, I hope you know how genuinely honored I am that you’re here, reading through the stories of the incredible humans I feel so lucky to document.
