A Maine Airbnb Wedding at The Hive at Blue Spruce Lodge

August 29, 2025

High school sweethearts, wood-fired pizza, and a whole lotta heart

Emily and Max aren’t just “in love” kind of people—they’re ride-or-die, high school sweethearts, bought their first house and got engaged on the anniversary of it kind of people. The kind who say things like, “we just want the day to feel like us,” and mean it. And that’s exactly what their Maine Airbnb Wedding was like.

So, they invited their favorite humans to a pair of cozy Airbnbs tucked into the trees of Brownfield, Maine, and threw a wedding that felt like… home. No stress. Just happy tears, pizza, a view of the White Mountains, and all the love.

The Vows + First Look At Cathedral Ledge

They kicked off the day with a first look and private vows at Cathedral Ledge—because if you’re going to tell your person all the things you’ve never said out loud before, might as well do it on the side of a mountain, right?

We kept it simple. Just the two of them, a view that could knock you over, and a quiet moment to breathe before the rest of the day started moving. I’ll never get over how grounding that kind of start is. 10/10 recommend.

P.S. I have a whole other blog all about Cathedral Ledge here!

Then Back to Brownfield for the Real Party

From the Ledge, we made our way back to The Hive at Blue Spruce Lodge—an absolute gem of a spot if you’re dreaming of a Maine Airbnb wedding. It’s got big backyard energy but elevated with all the right touches. Think: wide open space, wood accents, trees in every direction, and a firepit ready for the afterparty.

Emily got ready at one Airbnb. Max at the other. The driveways literally connect—it’s that easy. So everyone got to stay close, chill out, and just be together. No shuttles, no rushing, no “wait, where’s the groom?” moments. Just an easy peasy, low stress experience.

The Kind of Day That Doesn’t Need a Timeline to Be Perfect

This was one of those weddings where every part of the day just… fit.

A ceremony tucked in between trees with their closest people leaning in.

Cocktail hour that turned into hugs and champagne clinks.

Wicked Good Wood Fired Pizza rolling up right on time (and yes, it lived up to the name).

A toast from Emily’s dad that had everyone crying, laughing, and crying again.

First dances that turned into barefoot swaying under the string lights.

Firepit time with blankets, beers, and stories that probably shouldn’t be repeated but totally will be.

It was the kind of day that didn’t need a planner or production to make it beautiful—because the people, the place, and the reason were already doing the work.

P.S. Not sure where to even begin with wedding day timelines? Don’t worry, I gotcha! Check out this blog or go ahead and inquire to see how I can help!

Personal Details That’ll Stick With Me Forever

Emily wore her grandmother’s wedding ring—she couldn’t be there, so we made sure to get a quiet photo of the ring with her dress to share later. It’s a small thing, but honestly? That’s the kind of stuff I know she’ll treasure most when she looks back.

Max couldn’t stop smiling at her during the ceremony. I know that sounds cliché. But I mean it—the kind of smile where his cheeks hurt and his eyes kept doing that scrunchy happy thing. That’s the good stuff.

Also, can we talk about how every single guest was so stoked to be there? This wasn’t just a wedding. This was two lives coming together after ten years of memories—and everyone there knew it.
