Whether you are local or not, you will first want to head to the town hall in Bar Harbor, Maine to obtain a marriage license. You can visit their website here for more information! If you are a Maine local, you will want to visit the town hall located in your hometown.
In order for the license to be successfully submitted, your partner must be with you when applying. Make sure you get your license at least 1-2 days before your elopement.
Once you get your marriage license, it is valid for 90 days and the individual that is officiating your wedding ceremony is responsible for filing in the town of Acadia (Bar Harbor).
