3 Things to Know When You Book with Me

White Mountain Adventure Engagement Photos

Gabby and Adam are huge outdoor enthusiasts who really enjoy hiking. They decided to celebrate their story with a private adventure before their big wedding celebration with their loved ones.

Their session began in the morning and we were lucky enough to have the trail all to ourselves. It was laid-back, playful, and totally inspired by their love for nature. Gabby and Adam took breaks to appreciate the scenery together, really soaking in those moments. Making sure they had experiences like this means a lot to me; it’s about more than just snapping photos—it’s about creating meaningful memories and an experience together.

Best Time of Year to get Engagement Photos in the White Mountains

Depending on who you ask, you will probably get a different answer each time because the White Mountains are equally beautiful in their own way for each season. A personal favorite time of year to visit is in early summer or fall! (Pro tip: Go for sunrise to beat the heat and crowds) During this mountain engagement session, Gabby and Adam opted for the beginning of summer season! Check out some helpful information to consider during each season in the White Mountains:

  • Spring (March to May): it’s not uncommon to see snow during early spring and rain throughout the season. Expect cool to mind temperatures and to dress in layers!
  • Summer (June to August): the warmest time of year and often higher temps in lower elevations! This time of year is known as the wettest season, but it has plenty of beautiful sunny days.
  • Fall (September to November): the mountains are surrounded by vibrant red, orange, and yellow foliage. A popular time to visit and often crowded. Temperatures during this time of year often can drop quickly in higher elevations.
  • Winter (December to February): the perfect season for snowy engagement photos! Temperatures are often below freezing and feel cooler due to the wind chill.

What to Wear during Your Hiking Engagement Photos

Comfort is key! I always advise couples to prioritize outfits that make them feel comfortable, ensuring they’re relaxed throughout the session. Gabby and Adam opted for casual attire while hiking the trail, saving their engagement outfits for when they reached the summit.

3 Things to Know when Booking a Hiking Engagement Photoshoot with Me

  1. Location Scouting: Helping couples find the right spot for their hiking engagement photoshoots is super rewarding. Whether they’re after a stunning trail to a scenic spot or a quiet path away from the crowds, I love guiding them through the options. With my local know-how, it’s all about making their vision come to life in the White Mountains.
  2. Sun Tracking: The sun’s position significantly impacts the outcome of engagement photos in the White Mountains due to variations in elevation and the resulting shadows along the trails. Make sure you are partnering with a White Mountain Photographer that is well versed with the location’s lighting conditions before booking!
  3. Parking Recommendations: When you’re heading out to hike in the White Mountains, parking is a big deal. I’ve spent a ton of time in these mountains, so I’ve gotten pretty good at finding the best spots to park. I even know the best times of day to make sure couples snag a spot without any hassle.

Making sure the hiking experience in the mountains matches the couple’s vision is my top priority. If a spot I recommend doesn’t quite fit, I’ve always got backup options ready to make sure their vision comes to life! The White Mountains are known for so much more than only hiking trails, there are plenty of scenic locations throughout that include beautiful waterfalls, and easy accessible trails to visit!
