Starting the Day at the Hot Springs

We began the morning at one of Iceland’s cozy hot springs, a peaceful way start to the day! Layla and Kyle soaked in the warmth, and the steam helped for an even moodier backdrop.

Iceland is such a magical and easy place to just be present with each other. Watching them ooohh and ahhh over the epic landscapes was honestly so beautiful to witness. They truly just had the best day with each other!

Experiencing the Majesty of Skogafoss

From the hot springs, we made our way to one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, Skogafoss! You’ve likely seen this majestic waterfall on Instagram or Pinterest—it’s the kind of place that you never forget. Standing 60 meters tall, Skogafoss is a freaking showstopper, but it’s also surprisingly intimate when you’re there in person! 

The overcast skies made the colors of the surrounding landscape pop—greens, greys, and blues blending into a palette that felt both calming and powerful. As the wind picked up, it carried the bottom of Layla’s dress in a way that looked effortlessly romantic, I’m obsessed!

This moment was straight out of a movie. Layla and Kyle had the most fun doing their first dance with not a soul around. It truly is an honor to be able to document moments like this.

Exploring Hidden Gems in Iceland

After Skogafoss, we ventured to a lesser-known waterfall off the beaten path nearby. While Skogafoss draws the crowds, this spot felt like a secret meant just for them.

Layla and Kyle shared their vows in this epic location. This moment was honest, real, and so authentic to these two as a couple. There’s just something so raw and powerful about hearing vows in a place like this.

These quieter locations are what make Iceland so special! You can find yourself completely immersed in nature, with nothing but the sound of water and birds chirping. It’s like stepping into another world, one where time slows down and everything feels a little more magical.

Ending the Day at the Black Sand Beach

After warming up and changing into cozy clothes, Layla and Kyle made the drive for their final stop of the day at the iconic Reynisfjara black sand beach. The overcast skies created a dreamy, diffused light that seemed to stretch on forever. Here we had one of the most epic sunsets I have ever witnessed. The colors were unrealllll!

I love how Iceland has this way of grounding you. Even on a day as monumental as an elopement, it’s the simple things—holding hands, sharing a laugh, watching the waves—that feel the most significant. That’s what made this beach walk so special! It wasn’t about the grandeur, but the quiet connection between two people starting their forever. I feel so lucky to have witnessed it!

These are the kinds of moments that can’t be staged—authentic, unscripted, and full of love.
