Nora and Dave’s mountain elopement perfectly embodied the notion that while you can make plans, Mother Nature ultimately decides. Their unfazed attitude toward the unexpected changes spoke volumes about their excitement to tie the knot. Ready to hear how Nora and Dave made the most of their adirondack elopement? In this blog, I share their elopement timeline and why flexibility is key in a mountain wedding.
Nora and Dave opted for a cozy gathering with their closest friends in the Adirondack mountains. They rented a lovely cabin in the mountains and spent the day connecting deeply with the people who meant the most to them.
They enjoyed games and relaxed by the lake just outside their cabin, making it the ideal setting for a laid-back weekend.
Airbnb: Shamrock Shores on 4th Lake
Bride and Groom Portraits: Rocky mountain inlet trailhead
Parking: located right off of state route 28 just west of the downtown inlet. It is also the same parking lot used for Black Bear Mountain
In any adventure photoshoot, you have to be prepared for Mother Nature to throw a curveball. That’s why I always suggest couples have backup plans—maybe even plans B through E! Although Nora and Dave couldn’t elope at their intended summit, their wedding ceremony turned out to be unforgettable, a story they’ll cherish and share for years – and that is priceless.
Because of the rain, we were unable to hike to the summit! Thankfully, this Airbnb property was located right on 4th lake and made for an equally beautiful ceremony spot!
We held the ceremony on the dock despite the rain. Whenever it showered, we’d run inside the Airbnb or into the nearby barn, then quickly run out again when the sun briefly appeared. It turned out to be quite charming in the end!
The additional time gave Nora and Dave a chance to relax with their closest friends before dinner, and I had the opportunity to capture these simple yet precious moments. These memories will be cherished by Nora and Dave forever.
After the rain showers passed, Mother Nature gifted us with a beautiful rainbow right over the lake with the mountains in the distance.
Nora and Dave’s Adirondack mountain elopement was a testament to embracing the unexpected and finding beauty in every moment. Despite the rain altering their plans, their ceremony on the dock by 4th Lake turned into a magical experience, complete with fleeting sunbursts and even a stunning rainbow afterward. So, from heartfelt vows to cherished moments with their closest friends, every part of their day was filled with love and joy. Their elopement timeline—is a story of flexibility, love, and the breathtaking backdrop of the Adirondacks.
