9 Must See Wedding Venues In Rhode Island

April 1, 2026

You’re engaged, deep in wedding planning, and suddenly realizing just how many venue options Rhode Island has to offer. It’s exciting… and also a little overwhelming. As a former bride myself, I get it. Sifting through venue after venue can start to feel like a full-time job real quick. So, I wanted to make things a bit easier for you and pull together a guide to some of my favorite wedding venues in Rhode Island along with why I love them and what makes each one special.

9 Wedding Venues in Rhode Island That You Have to Know About

Let’s dive into these Rhode Island wedding venues and what makes each one such a good place to celebrate.

1. Shepherds Run

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants a full weekend experience without having to overthink a single detail.

Shepherds Run is one of New England’s most sought-after wedding venues (and for good reason). From the second you land on their website, you get a feel for the vibe—it’s a timeless estate and winery that can host anything from an intimate celebration to a full 300-guest wedding (it’s got range).

What makes this venue especially appealing is that it’s full-service, which means you’re not juggling a million moving pieces while trying to enjoy your day. Between the garden party-style catering, overnight accommodations for your guests (up to 26 rooms), and the 1930s architecture that feels elegant, romantic, and lived-in all at once, everything is set up for a seamless experience.

One of my favorite parts of this venue is the variety of spaces you get to work with. There are so many unique rooms for indoor portraits, plus outdoor options like the vineyards, gardens, and the estate itself so your gallery ends up feeling really dynamic without ever having to leave the property.

If you’re still figuring out your guest count or want flexibility in how your day flows, this is where Shepherd’s Run really stands out:

  • Rush Sturges Study: up to 8 guests
  • Hazard Family Salon: up to 12 guests
  • Beatrix Farrand Walled Garden: up to 300 guests
  • Living Room: up to 15 guests
  • Wine Hall: up to 90 guests (standing) and 44 (seated)
  • Winemakers Room: up to 67 (standing) and 14 (seated)
  • Event Hall: up to 300 guests
  • Sailcloth Event Tent: Up to 300 guests
  • Event Hall Terrace: up to 200 guests

So whether you’re keeping things intimate or inviting everyone you know, this place gives you the flexibility to make it the day you have always dreamed of.

2. Glen Manor House

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants something elegant and timeless, but still feels relaxed and personal.

Glen Manor House is known for being grand yet intimate, and honestly, that’s exactly what it feels like to be there. It’s located in Portsmouth, RI, right on the banks of the Sakonnet River. It honestly feels more like the French countryside than New England, without ever leaving the States.

This venue really shines in the spring and fall. In the spring, everything is lush, green, and full of life, and in the fall, you get all that classic New England foliage that makes the whole property feel extra magical.

One of the things I love most about this venue is the history behind it and how well it’s been preserved; it still feels timeless without feeling outdated.

Glen Manor House can host up to 175 guests and is in season from the months of May through mid-October. One of the biggest perks is that you’ll be the only event on the property that day, so you truly get to soak it all in without anything else going on around you.

A Few Things Worth Noting:

  • Catering is included, and Glen Manor House partners with Russell Morin Catering & Events (they’re a big deal in New England for a reason)
  • Open bar is included for up to 5 hours.
  • Parking and traffic are handled for you, which makes things way smoother for guests arriving and leaving.
  • Furniture rentals are available on-site, so you don’t have to coordinate bringing everything in yourself (but you still can if you want to).

3. Mount Hope Farm

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants flexibility and a space they can make their own.

Mount Hope Farm is a registered historic property, which adds a layer of charm knowing it has stood the test of time while still feeling like a beautiful place to host your wedding.

I can personally attest as a vendor that the team here is incredibly detail-oriented and known for creating a really seamless, high-end experience for their couples.

There are two main celebration spaces on the property: the Barn and the Cove Cabin (right on Mount Hope Bay). One of my favorite things about this venue is that no matter which space you choose, you’re starting with a blank canvas—so your day actually reflects your vision, not just the venue itself.

A Few Things to Note:

  • This venue is also partnered with the Russell Morin Catering and Events Team (I told you they were good…and I meant it)
  • Sunset on the bay is unreal and makes for the best golden hour portraits
  • The Barn includes a full kitchen, heating and air conditioning, and restrooms (which is always a win)
  • In the winter, the gas fireplace adds a really cozy feel for colder weather weddings
  • The gardens are perfect for a spring or summer ceremony

4. The Guild

A laid-back, brewery-style venue with a rustic-meets-modern feel—perfect for couples who want a fun, social, and slightly non-traditional celebration.

The Guild is a brewery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island known for its in-house brews and genuinely fun atmosphere. It has that rustic-meets-modern feel and is perfect for couples who love a casual Friday night with a local beer in hand.

The space can accommodate up to 150 guests, and you can host multiple parts of your wedding day here, including a reception at their nearby barn. Between lawn games, fresh beer, and all your favorite people in one place, it naturally creates a really relaxed, high-energy kind of celebration.

Some quick notes to know about:

  • An in-house event team is available to help with planning and logistics
  • Several nearby hotels make it easy for out-of-town guests
  • Weddings are hosted year-round
  • Rental options are available (chairs, lighting, centerpieces, etc.)
  • You can bring in local food trucks for a more casual, fun dining experience
  • Full-service bar packages are available

5. Dye House

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants something a little more non-traditional and design-forward, while still keeping things intentional and personal.

The Dye House is a boutique hotel in Providence, Rhode Island with a more artsy, edgy feel. Before becoming a wedding venue, it was a textile mill, and I love that the restoration kept so much of that original texture and character. It gives the space a kind of personality you really can’t replicate, making it a super unique option.

There are two event spaces onsite, and both are beautiful. The Studio is the main space used for weddings, with white brick walls and concrete floors that create a modern, slightly industrial feel. One of the best things about this space is how open it is—you can truly customize the layout, from seating to your dance floor.

The Lot is a great secondary space that works really well for cocktail hour or just giving guests a place to step away and relax during the reception.

Getting ready here is also really simple. You can rent out all four rooms onsite, which makes it easy to stay in one place with your bridal party instead of coordinating between multiple locations.

A Few Notes That Makes the Dye House Stand Out

  • No vendor restrictions, so you can bring in the caterer, DJ, and rentals you actually want
  • Even though it feels more intimate, the space can still accommodate up to 150 guests

6. OceanCliff

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants coastal views without sacrificing that private, estate-like feel.

OceanCliff is the perfect venue if you’re looking for that mix of ocean views and rolling hills. Located in Newport, Rhode Island, it’s easily one of the most scenic coastal venues in the area.

The property itself is a historic estate known for its incredible guest service, cuisine, and overall experience. However, one of my favorite things about OceanCliff is how intimate it feels once you’re there. Even though it’s part of the Newport Experience (which includes a few other venues), OceanCliff sits on 10 acres of rolling hills that lead right into the bay, so it really feels like your own private space.

The Grand Ballroom can host up to 200 guests, while the smaller rooms are perfect for more intimate celebrations. For your ceremony, you have a couple of beautiful options. The Seaside Ceremony is right on the bay, and the Upper Deck gives you unreal views of the Newport Bridge and Narragansett Bay. The deck can host up to 150 guests and also includes a tented space that works well for rehearsal dinners.

7. Fort Adams State Park

This venue is perfect for the couple who wants a mix of history, ocean views, and the freedom to create a wedding day that flows from one space to the next.

A national historic landmark with classic New England energy and beautiful views of Newport Harbor, Fort Adams truly does not miss. It’s a more unconventional venue with a ton of character.

There are several indoor and outdoor locations to choose from, ranging from the 200-year-old fort itself to the open lawns that stretch right out to Narragansett Bay. If you’re wanting a mix of both, you can easily incorporate a tented setup for that indoor-outdoor feel and celebrate all night with sailboats drifting by at sunset.

What makes this location especially incredible is the versatility. Many couples choose to host their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in different spots across the property, which creates a gallery that feels cohesive while still giving you a subtle change in scenery throughout the day.

Important things to know:

  • The event team is incredibly helpful and focused on making your day feel smooth and well taken care of
  • Guest capacity varies depending on which spaces you choose
  • The Eisenhower House includes a beautiful ballroom that works well for more intimate weddings
  • There are special use policies and rental agreements to know about since this location is at a State Park

8. Roger Williams Botanical Center

This venue is for the couples who want all the whimsical, garden-party vibes. Located in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island, it’s especially perfect for a spring or summer celebration.

There are a few different spaces you can choose from depending on the feel you’re going for:

  • The Conservatory: Part of New England’s largest indoor public garden, this space includes trees and even a waterfall (yes, really). It’s one of the most popular options and works well for both intimate weddings and larger celebrations.
  • The Lakeside Pavillion: Located just behind the conservatory, this tented space can host up to 150 guests (not seated). With its paver flooring and open-air feel, it gives off that elevated backyard wedding vibe. This is a great option for larger guest counts that won’t quite fit inside the conservatory.
  • The Mediterranean Room: Perfect for couples wanting a Mediterranean-inspired feel without leaving New England. With tiled floors and full greenery, it’s a beautiful option for a more intimate celebration, cocktail hour, or reception space.

And those are just the indoor options. The outdoor spaces are just as beautiful and give you even more flexibility for your ceremony or reception. No matter what you choose, you’ll also have access to the full property for portraits, which is a huge bonus.

Some Notes About This Venue:

  • Another venue with no vendor restrictions!
  • Can host up to 130 seated guests (depending on the space you choose)
  • It’s a year-round venue!

9. Okay Island

Perfect for non-traditional couples who want that raw, bonfire-esque vibe with a little bit of nostalgia mixed in. Also… a total DIY-haven!

Okay Island is such a fun, unique wedding space that’s unlike anything else on this list. Located right on the Connecticut and Rhode Island state line, it’s easily one of the most flexible venues I’ve come across.

One thing to know right away is that they intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year. Because of that, dates tend to book up quickly, so if this venue feels like your vibe, you’ll want to lock it in sooner rather than later.

The entire vision behind Okay Island is creating a space where you can fully bring your ideas to life. Want extra time for setup and decor? You’ve got it. Planning something a little unconventional that needs more flexibility? They’re all about it. It’s one of those places where the focus is less on fitting into a template and more on creating something that actually feels like you.

A few things that make Okay Island stand out:

  • Total flexibility when it comes to layout, decor, and overall vision
  • Designed with DIY weddings in mind (you’re not boxed into a set structure or vibe)
  • Ideal for multi-day celebrations or extended setup time
  • A more laid-back, immersive experience compared to traditional venues
  • Perfect for unique details like bonfires, outdoor hangs, and non-traditional timelines
