Step 1: Choose Your Season
Spring Elopement in Stowe, Vermont
As winter fades, Stowe comes alive with vibrant greenery, rushing waterfalls, and the most beautiful blooming wildflowers. Spring is the perfect time for couples who love a mix of adventure and quiet time, with fewer crowds and fresh mountain air. While early spring may still have patches of snow, by May, the landscape is bursting with life.
Hike to Moss Glen Falls: One of Vermont’s tallest waterfalls and a total hidden gem in the spring. The hike is short but scenic, and if you go early enough in the season, you might catch the falls surrounded by lingering snow, making for some seriously magical photos.
Hot Air Balloon Ride: How cool would it be to have a birds eye view of Stowe’s rolling hills and forests?! If you’ve ever wanted a truly unforgettable (and ridiculously romantic) way to see Vermont, this is it.
Scenic Drive through Smugglers’ Notch: Once this famous mountain pass reopens, it’s an absolute must. You’ll find some of the most beautiful towering cliffs, winding roads, and all that fresh spring greenery creeping back in. Perfect for a slow, scenic drive with the windows down (if you know, you know).
Stowe Community Farmers Market: Kicking off in May, this market is full of local goodies—think fresh produce, handmade crafts, and live music. It’s a great way to soak up the local vibe and grab some snacks for a romantic picnic. Picnic at Trapp Family Lodge: Lay out a blanket on the dreamy hillside of this historic lodge (yes, that von Trapp family!). With mountain views all around and a cozy Austrian-inspired atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to slow down and take it all in.
A Summertime Elopement in Stowe, Vermont
Summer in Stowe is all about warm days, cool mountain breezes, and endless outdoor adventures. It’s the perfect season for water activities, scenic hikes, and golden sunset views. Gondola Ride up Mount Mansfield: Hop on the gondola and ride straight up to Vermont’s highest peak. The views? Unreal. If you can, time your ride for sunset—the golden light up there is something else.

The mountains go all out, bursting into bright shades of red, orange, and gold—like something straight out of a painting. The air is crisp, crunchy leaves are everywhere and the scent of apple cider in the breeze makes fall in Stowe feel straight-up magical.
Hike Stowe Pinnacle during Peak Foliage: Take in some of the best fall views in Vermont with this moderate hike. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with a jaw-dropping panorama of colorful mountains stretching for miles.

Step 2: Pick a Ceremony Location
There are SO many spots throughout Stowe, Vermont perfect for the dreamiest mountain elopement experience. Here are a few of my favorite spots that I share with my clients to consider!
Mount Mansfield
If you’re up for some seriously jaw-dropping views, Mount Mansfield is a must-do! As Vermont’s highest peak, it gives you the most beautiful views that are tough to beat. You can either take the Auto Toll Road or the Gondola SkyRide to the top. A heads-up, though: the toll road closes at 4:30 PM, but the gondola’s your last chance to head down by that time, so plan accordingly for the best experience! (P.s. I help my couples with the logistics)!
This waterfall is like something out of a storybook—super cute and easy to get to! Just a short .1-mile round trip makes it the perfect romantic spot. It can get a bit popular, but if you’re looking for a peaceful moment with a gorgeous backdrop, it’s totally worth it. Bonus: dogs are welcome on a leash!
Warren Falls
If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, Warren Falls is the spot. With crystal-clear pools and dramatic rock formations, it’s perfect for couples who love a good nature challenge. And trust me, the views here will make for some stunning photos!
This little slice of forest feels like a fairytale, complete with magical wooden bridges and that peaceful vibe we all crave for an intimate elopement. Plus, it’s one of those places that feels private and tucked away, perfect for moments you want to keep just for yourselves. Oh, and yes, dogs are welcome!
Think hidden gem. With its gorgeous waterfalls, pretty picnic spots, and easy trails, this place offers the perfect backdrop for a laid-back, romantic day. You can even bring your pup along for the adventure—it’s that kind of place where you just want to kick back and take it all in.
Sunset Rock:
If you’re worried about unpredictable weather, don’t stress—Sunset Rock is your backup! It’s an awesome spot with a view of downtown Stowe, making it an ideal place to tie the knot without the worry of weather issues. It’s got that perfect “just us” vibe without missing out on the beautiful scenery.
These spots are all about mixing adventure, beauty, and that cozy Vermont vibe. Whether you’re looking for killer mountain views, waterfalls, or magical forests, each location has something special to offer, and together they’ll give you a perfect mix of landscapes for your elopement album.

This step is more important that you might think! It’s the backdrop to all those quiet, intimate moments and cozy evenings. Here are some spots that will set the perfect mood for your elopement:
Tälta Lodge: If you’re all about Scandinavian vibes, Tälta Lodge is your jam. Think sleek, minimalistic design, natural wood accents, and that cozy, hygge feel. It’s the perfect retreat after a day of exploring, with just the right mix of modern style and rustic charm.
Trapp Family Lodge: For something a little more mountain vibes, the Trapp Family Lodge basically brings Austria to Vermont. The lodge’s mountain views will have you feeling like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. Whether you’re sipping hot cocoa by the fire or strolling the grounds, it’s the kind of place where the moments feel extra special.
Field Guide Lodge: This is your go-to if you’re after a more laid-back, trendy vibe. Field Guide Lodge is a boutique hotel with a super cool, contemporary feel. Located right in the heart of Stowe, it’s perfect for couples who want to be close to all the action but still enjoy a peaceful, stylish retreat. Plus, the design is totally Instagram-worthy!
