Its no secret that the Seacoast is an amazing photography location. I love this area not only because this is my home, but because it is FULL of beautiful and picturesque spots. New Hampshire and Maine have such a variety of scenery and landscapes that just never gets old. In this blog I have included some of the best places to take engagement, family, or couples photos on the Seacoast!
Pierce Island separates the Piscataqua River from the “South End” of Portsmouth. It holds many aesthetic views including salt marshes, tidal pools, rocky cliffs, and meadows. There are also several activities such as outdoor pool, walking paths, playgrounds, and boat launches. This is an amazing area for Golden Hour photos and a great way to have ships in the background! Dogs are allowed here 🙂
New Hampshires coast line is 15 miles long with little beaches and hidden spots along the way!! Some of my favorites are Pirates Cove and Odiorne State Park Beach. I have certain spots that I love to hit for tide times and whether its sunrise or sunset!
Just a short distance from Portsmouth, New Hampshire is a beautiful spot full of greenery, sea grass, rocks, and water. I love that you can get so many backgrounds from one location! The backlight here is also so nice at sunset. There are public restrooms and parking here as well. (Dogs aren’t allowed between May 15th-September 15th)
Fort Foster is a historic coastal defense site located in Kittery, Maine. It is part of the Forts Foster and McClary State Historic Site and is a popular destination for visitors interested in history, outdoor recreation, and scenic beauty! Its a great spot for photos because it is dog friendly year round and has amazing tide pools at low tide! Photos at the fort are also super cool to throw in the album as well!
This is one of the best beaches to take pictures in Maine! Footbridge Beach is known for its scenic beauty, characterized by wide expanses of soft, sandy shoreline, picturesque dunes, and views of the Ocean. The natural landscape and the sound of the waves make it an ideal spot for relaxation and photography. My favorite time to visit is during the summer at low tide getting the most beautiful golden hour light.
Willard Beach is situated in the Willard Square neighborhood of South Portland, which is in close proximity to downtown Portland. It is easily accessible by car and is a short drive from Portland’s Old Port district. This is a quaint and beautiful beach perfect for taking maternity, family, or couples photos!
Kettle Cove is located in Cape Elizabeth, a picturesque coastal town just south of Portland, Maine. It’s easily accessible by car and is approximately a 15-minute drive from downtown Portland. The cove is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty. It features a small sandy beach surrounded by rugged rocky shores. The coastline is adorned with tide pools and interesting rock formations, making it an excellent spot for exploration and photography.
There are so many options for beautiful photography locations and so many I didn’t even list here! Please follow along with my Instagram and check back for more helpful blogs! I specialize in the Seacoast, but also travel to many other destinations as well.
